Radman1, man that's just wrong! Here am am almost satisfied that I get 70 degrees out of mine and you post that you get 51-55 on a 91 degree day.

I guess I'm getting Deere involved now. If you can get it I should be able too.

Silver Knight, Ditto!! I was about ready to accept the 68 - 71 deg F air coming out of my 3720 vents because of your test measurements and thinking it may be normal. But, after seeing Radman1's data I'm now surmising there is a real problem and will get Deere involved.

Besides air box leaks, I suppose there could be low refridgerant in the system.

Whoa! I am so glad I told my dealer that I need to fully inspect the top this coming weekend and then get back to him on the parts I need.!

It sure seems like JD is screwing these cabs up. They have such an opportunity to gain market share. I suspect Kubota is doing just fine with theirs. I tell ya, the New Holland smaller cab tractors are nice also.

Dunno about 'Botas, but I am sure they have their share is issues that should have been resolved prior to release of newer versions. This is relatively minor , and can be fixed quite easily.

Minor???? Not to me.....Tell that to my dealer and Rep......they have spent about 40 hours on it, replaced freon twice, expansion valve twice and compressor once and it still doesn't cool. They have a new one on the lot that cools a few degrees cooler but nothing substantial.

Have they replaced the cab seal?

I do not think it was torn. They inspected it and said it didn't need replacing.

I am sure it was checked when they looked at the seal, but the cables that control the amount of heat or cool are adjustable. My dealer warned me when doing my radio to make sure they worked right when I had the top off, and to ensure they went back in the same place so they would not bind. I guess he had one bind up on the heater side before when they did a radio. The owner could not get much heat. After hours of work, they finally traced it back to the cable binding up when the top was on..

IMO, to condense theses problems down to a single point...looks like having a knowledgable dealer is KEY to avoiding these problems...talked to another 3x20 cabbed owner who got his tractor from the same dealer as me and his is blows cold in the summer, hot in the winter...
These tractors are just ASSEMBLED by JD, and the dealer NEEDS to do the fine tuning & adjustments...on my 3520 the Cab Seal was torn AND the 3pt didnt lower all the way to the ground...Both issues I obviously didnt know existed on my tractor as it hadnt even been delivered yet...but both were found and fixed prior to delivery and my 3520 has been running like a Swiss Watch since it landed here on my property...

You are very fortunate to have such a dealer close by. I doubt there are many like him. I won't go into the issues I've had.
Let me just say I'd pay more money for equipment to have such a dealer.

Nuru, very interesting and excellent question. I'm anxious to remove my cab top and see if/what problems exist in the air box. However, I have a house full of company this week and won't get to it until next week (at the earliest). Exchanging info like this helps immensely with problems.

Darin, I agree with you 100%. JD has a pretty nice cab , ergonomics and feature wise. However, it seems the A/C and heating system on many of the 3000 series tractors has it's issues. For the kind of money they charge (and we pay) you'd think it would get fixed. Could be only a small percentage is having problems so JD isn't doing much about it.

"Silver_Knight, "Minor", well let me take a huge back step, they have done a bunch of work on your unit. hmm, they hopefully are going to Deere with this and will provide you a solution - seems like there is an air leak somewhere they have not found yet? Have they gone to step of checking how the dorrs seal, or if there is a leak in the lower window seals?

No problem; I am going back in this weekend and will inspect the other seals and isolators, so that I can get an all in one request to my dealer.

Mine passed inspection by my dealer but I had a valve fail 20 minutes into my first usage and I just caught the isolator seal breakage, before it got worse. But over all, the unit is performing well. i have 3 dealers within my range of travel and they all have decent/good service teams, so I consider myself lucky.

11 MIU10418 ISOLATOR 1
12 MIU10480 ISOLATOR 2

I removed the roof cap today on my 3720 and found isolator no. 10 broken at both rear corners, isolator no. 11 is missing, and seal no. 6 has a large crack.

I also measured the temperature of the large line at the evaporator with a thermocouple as suggested above and found it ranged from 47 deg F (compressor turned on) to 36 deg F (compressor turned off). I suspect this indicates the compressor, refrigerant, and etc is ok and it is further proof that the air leaks are the problem.

Mine is missing seal 11 also... I am unsure if its a bad drawing or if most are missing that seal. The dealer sent me one for mine and I was unsure as weather to put it in or not. I did not and the ac is pretty good.

I was out 3 days ago on a 88 degree day and I had the AC on full tilt. I was very confortable and the steering wheel was cool. Wish I had a temp guage to give you numbers. I will say, it is no where neer as good as my truck AC, but it works well.

I would probably fix the seal. 88 is not that hot. I think the some cabs have poor seals in the air box.
