300HP Log splitter

This is just too weird to be real. A log splitter that attaches to a vehicle wheel hub. The picture is too small to see what they suggest you do with this. Would a 300HP pickup split faster than a 90HP Honda??

Lewis, do I see this correctly? you jack your vehicle up, remove wheel and bolt this to axle and grab a log with your arms and this screws in to the log and splits it?
Who is hanging on to me?? Not me, no way

I especially like the 3-legged car (an El Camino is a car) loaded with wood up on a jack. Not sure I'd even want to be around the vehicle... nevermind having to hand-feed the splitter in that situation.

Sure, these are a real thing, came out in early '70s, I think. They split just fine, though not good with an auto trans vehicle. Plus you're on your knees to use it and can't work long until there's too much split around you and you have to move it out of the way. They came with a kill switch in case your necktie got stuck in a split. Worst was when with some twisty grain the thing wouldn't split apart, and you're swinging an axe toward your El Camino.
Some guys mounted these on the PTO, with an arm to keep the bolt from spinning - that seems like a better system, and you could raise it up so your back didn't take such a beating. There's probably a post or three about this on TBN, and I remember one last fall, maybe...

I have one and it works great. I split 8 cords of pine (Ponderosa and Douglas Fir) this summer and 5-7 cords in past years. I have it bolted to an old non-road worthy Bronco with a manual transmission. It cost me $25.00 for shipping (I got it from another TBN member). I split 24+ inch logs with it with no problem.

The engine is at idle when in use and I have had no problems at all. As long as I keep the Bronco engine in good shape, I have a wood splitter with little
/no maintenance.

It is soooo nice to go and split a few pieces of wood at a time, when I have a few minutes rather than having to do a marathon wodd splitting session.
