I have a front end hydraulic inverted log splitter attachment for my MF 1736. It works great except for a couple problems I have while operating it. 1) The thing is so long and I am far back in the seat, while sitting it is hard to determine if the end of the splitter is beyond the log. If I go too far, it drags the log and the log almost always turns. 2) Is it level? It's a best guess right now and back-n-forth to get it substantially level.
I would love a remote level indicator for an attachment. And, some way to indicate the end of the splitter is beyond the log. Right now I have to have my kid or wife give me hand signals. I can judge it close, but not close enough to spend hours messing with it on my own.
I can't find a remote level indicator. Right now I am thinking of a Dewalt level laser that blinks if it's a few degrees off level. It's meant for construction obviously.
Maybe a green laser light stuck to the end so I can see where the end of the splitter is over a log. I'm skeptical I will be able to see that dot while in the sun. Perhaps a remote distance measuring indicator and I could see where the distance changes? Can't find one.
Anyone else have to deal with something similar and then what was your solution?
