Please clarify this??? I don't see the numbers to add up to that. Something is not adding up cost wise either. I simply can't see how an open station Mahindra costs more than a cab Deere of the same size.

Well the Deere dealer has a 5085E (cab) with an H260 loader and grapple bucket that lists for $58,990. They are willing to part with it for $49,485.00 because it was a "demo" unit AND the lowest rate they have is 2.9%.

The Mahindra dealer has a Mpower 85 (open station) that lists for $51,383.00 which they are willing to sell for $49,645 with 0% financing. They will sell the tractor for $44,175 IF I pay cash which isn't gonna happen in either case.

My problem is I just don't see the advantage to going with Mahindra when I can get a more powerful loader and a cab. Now if this 5085E is the deal of the century let me know.

Thanks

Just to make sure it's run in the ground. There is a major difference between a power reverser and non power reverser. The clutch is wet on a power reverser and dry on non power. Difference is 10,000 hours or 2,000 hours clutch life.
This is not random fact reading on my part, I've have witnessed personally this many times. Not saying anything about brands either way, just saying power reverser is worth it on a big tractor. Price a clutch job and you'll see what I mean.

How is it that the H260 loader that will lift 3674lbs at the pins to full height more powerful than the Mahindra 85L that lifts 4100lbs at the pins to full height???

You should be able to get the Mahindra for under $38,000. Something is very very wrong with the pricing that you are getting. The tractor lists for $37,750 + the loader. The loader does not cost $21,000.

With the 2 different Mahindra tractors that I have bought, I was able to get both of them with loaders for less than the tractor alone list price. This was from 2 completely different dealers.

As far as the clutch deal, these tractors do not use a std dry clutch, they are a twin disk ceramic disk and while probably not as good as a wet clutch, by far better than the typical std single disk clutch.

It sounds to me like you want the JD, get it and be happy and get your work done. Don't need to get the Mahindra and be second guessing your self for the life of the machine what ever that might be. ;)

Your Mahindra dealer is most definitely doing you wrong. :(

MtnView,

That's the route I'm going to go, either a well used 5075M or the open station 5085E. Thanks for the heads up on the Mahindra prices. I'm sure they are great tractors I just haven't had good luck negotiating with this particular dealer.

Now an M tractor would be the way to go.

You may be getting mixed up with financing prices with interest versus financing prices before interest versus cash prices. Also between Glide shift (Kubota only I think), Power shuttle, and shuttle shift. Check your numbers. If you have them straight, get the 5085 and don't look back. Consider other brands too. I think Kioti puts their 7320 cab in the high 30s low 40s, and Kubota has lots of options. At this price, its worth shopping around.
