304 FEL vs 364 FEL

Just called the dealer and the B2320 tractor and grading scraper have arrived. The 304 FEL has yet to arrive though. Dealership said that they had a 364 on ground that would fit for $200-300 bucks. Is this worth the upgrade?

if you go to the kubota web site and look at specs you can see the different capacities of the two loaders.i think it would be money well spent

Go for the bigger loader. Spread out over the life of the tractor, the $300 becomes a non-issue. The added capacity will come in handy many times over the years. :thumbsup:

go with higher lift capacity. i would say. much less likely to damage the FEL and if you plan on moving any dirt, or have a rock driveway, or deal with firewood. that extra weight it can lift can become real handy.

the problem though, with any FEL. is making sure you have counter weight on rear end of the tractor. folks generally start looking at putting fluid in rear tires. and using a 3pt implement like a box blade, rear blade, 3pt backhoe, or perhaps a carry all with added weight on it, or an actual 3pt hitch weight box.

if you do not have counter weight on rear. you can easily teter totor the entire tractor on the front wheels. this both can be dangerous but also takes away in how much you can do with the tractor if you do not have enough weight on rear end.

As an up-selling point for the B2620. Most people don't know they are compatible nor do many dealers. A dealer will try to sell a B2620 over the B2320 for increased loader capacity, etc. One other consideration is that with AG tires the B2320 has smaller tires which probably have a lower capacity.

As for the loaders themselves, the LA304 up to the LA504 are all the same boom and frame, but with different cylinders.

So I could have had a larger loader put on my 2920! Crap! Another point I didn't know when I bought mine.....I wonder if the larger cylinders would be limited by the pump capacity on the smaller tractors.

In theory yes, but the 4cyl tractors use a different sub frame. You would have to get the LA504 loader with the sub frame for a B2920, and I don't think Kubota packages them that way. :thumbsup:
