The concrete is 6” with fiber mesh. No rebar.

There is saw cuts in it now. I may add 1 more in a spot my father in law recommended. (He was also in concrete).

That's better than rebar! Just kidding. Looks very nice!

Ok, finally got the last interior light up today. Mind you I don’t have electrical yet. I will have it this year for sure though. Half of the wires for the plugs are already pulled though the conduit, the panel is in but not connected to the house yet and 2/3 of the supplies are there. So there is progress in that end.

Some more accomplishments recently.

I now have running hot and cold water. The water volume is amazing. Being the connection is inside the house that runs to the barn, spill proof backflow preventers were used.

Then trenched in 100’ of French drain on the side. Figures before I throw gravel down, I mind as well do it.

I’ve since added gravel to the right size of the barn and a small pad in the back.

Last week I had gutters installed and also ran on side under the gravel.

The barn has 3 electrical outlets but the rest of the electrical still needs to be finished.

Having a tough time adding photos, I hope to post them shortly.

This kind of looks like an instant hot water set up for a house, but you have some things on here that I don't understand.

What is the drain to the bucket for? Where is the moisture coming from that requires a drain and is the bucket a permanent solution?

There is a clear plastic square container with something pink in it. What is that?

Are the large white PVC pipes coming off the top for exhaust?

Thanks

Eddie, these heaters/boilers are condensing versions requiring a drain.

I think the pink tank is pressurized and puts positive pressure into the system, usually around 15psi. The liquid is a non corrosive, maybe antifreeze solution. Replaces any air loss to keep the system air free.

One of the white pipes is exhaust. One is intake.

Appears to be a very complicated setup and probably costly. Hopefully he gets many years of excellent heat.

Experienced my first Winter with hydronic heat in my shop. I absolutely love it. Radiant heat is like nothing else. My dog would go out for a run last Winter and come back in cold and wet. He'd sprawl out on the floor and take a nap. Great stuff!!!

That’s my hope. I’m excited for this winter. Wet vehicles end up thawed and dry. People say since it’s warm, tools etc won’t rust. So many benefits.
