I noticed that my JD switches were rated at 20A which is a pretty good load. But a relay may still be a great idea.

Wire size can really be an issue, As voltage goes down, wire size gets crucial. That is one reason there is a switch to 42V going on in the automotive industry. Low voltage motors are the other biggy.

On TEN series tractors the install is pretty much the same, but there are no blanks to remove. Instead they had an outline of the cutout, and a dremel tool is used to cut the opening.

I have a 55 amp alternater up grade but the standed 40 amp will work just as good.To be truthful if you put them side by side they look the same.

I did start the install today. I bought the gator switch this morning and it is installed and wires to it are routed, loomed, and installed. I also have the 8ga power wire routed, loomed, and installed to the back. I bought an 8ga AGU sealed fuse holder tonight while I was at Circuit City before dinner (got to love car audio fuse holders as they look sharp and are waterproof). I will install it in the morning at the battery. I am also going to install a spade connector rail system in the Radio Shack "kit box" that gets powered by the 8ga wire once the lights are on and the new switch is turned on. This is so in the future (probably Christmas) I can order up some JD lights (Will order 2 front and 2 rear - I like the look of them) and two more switches to (these two switches I will install in the front of the 3320 panel - will have to cut those out) so that I can then power the Aux front and rear llights independantly and seperately from the regular tractor lights. This switch I installed will activate the rail (and the cig lighter receptical) and then each of the two new switches will each control a set of lights - one the front pair of lights and the second the rear pair of lights.
