Hey everyone, I'm looking for a little advice, I have a 3320 and I am looking at rotary tillers, specifically CCM tillers, first off do you think the 3320 will handle a 60' tiller? I live in upstate NY, we have clay and some rock, second the models I'm looking at are the CR60 and the MR160, CR weighs 460lbs the MR 630lbs. so what do you think?

Duckklr69:

Welcome to TBN :D! I live in an area where the soil is similar to yours. I have a CCM MR-160 and I have no complaints about it. I will also add that CCM's suppport and responsiveness is without equal :D! Your 3320 has slightly more HP than my
"29", you should not have any problems with the MR-160. Just get a tiller wider than your tire width. Jay

Duck,

I have a 52" Woods I use on my 3320 (originally bought it for a 24 HP tractor). I have to offset it to cover the tire tracks. There is no doubt in my mind that the 3320 will EASILY handle a 60" tiller.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with CCM.

Hey Duck, I have the 5' King Kutter and my JD 2520 handles it fine. Before the 2520 I had a 2210 and it worked the snot out of it! I would think a 3320 would play with a 5' tiller. Soil around here is clay and black dirt. Also my tiller weighs 700lbs. I dont need front end weight at all, and the heavier the tiller the better in my opnion.

I have a 57" Frontier and it just covers the tire tracks on my 3720.

My Father uses the same tiller on his 4110... thats around 20HP...

I would think you could run a 80" tiller off your 3320..... with ease..... even in heavy ground....

The 3320 will handle the 60" just fine. As a matter of fact, John Deere lists the 665 tiller (which is 65") as a suitable implement for the 3320.

I would get a 66-72" model. Cost is minimally more and the tractor can handle it. Your tractor width is right at 59-60" and a 60" tiller is just going to cover. It is always much nicer to clear beyond the tires. I have a JD 3720 and did some extremely hard clay this spring which had heavy grass. Had to go very slow due to the tiller jumping on the hard ground. Tractor power was not the issue with my 72" KK tiller. Hit a metal gate buried in the ground. Gave the slip clutch on the tiller its first use. The tractor didn't hardly notice it. It took me a moment to realize what happened before I raised the tiller. I forgot the tiller had a slip clutch.

I've got the Frontier RT1160 on my 3120 and I've never had it struggle. You'll have to look it up but I think it is 59". It covers my tracks and I have the same tractor with 3 less hp.

I looked it up and it is 57". Everything I've done with it I know I could have gone much bigger.

Thanks for all your replies, so a 60' tiller is no problem for the 3320 and it will just cover my tracks, maybe I will go a little larger.

If you don't mind how much did you pay for the 1260? How has it performed for you so far?

$1700 from a dealer about 60 miles from the house and it took some looking to get it that cheap. The Local Deere guys wanted $2300. It works great except I do not use it much. If I did it over again I would most likely buy the cheaper farm and fleet king kutter and figure out a way to make the PTO length work. Uncle owns the KK tiller with his Kubota and he gardens with it 10 acres ever year and swears by it. I am very happy with my RT1260 though.

Anyone know what a John Deere 665 goes for?

I just bought a 665 tiller from my dealer for $2450. It will go on my new 3520.
