Checked my measurements of the pistons and they are right, called Hoye - manual has 2 different size engines 336D is a 83.73MM and the one listed is for a 90mm.
Anything ordered from the web is suppose to be for the 83.73mm

There is not a hitch while turning the crank and I did not feel anything on the clutch pedal when I first got it home.

I am going to order the parts and put it together.

Ym336 has the 3t84 with 84mm bore. The same block was used with 90mm applications also (3t90... john deere 950)

Interesting situation, here now I am back at work where my info is and my manual only shows the 90mm bore specs in section 20 engine repair where I got the info for you.

But in the specs section 10 at the front it lists the 84mm bore for 336 & D and the engine is the 3t84a-n take that with salt too I guess believe it if you see it.

Making the notes in my book right now for future reference.

I am really disgusted - Got The new connecting rod, rings and bearings put in this morning. Head installed compression Gage hooked up - 300lbs. then it would not get over 200. hooked up the air line to it - backed off the rockers- air coming through the exhaust port. I pushed on the top of the valve a couple times - no change. I am walking away from it for a while.

:( Sorry it is still having issues. I think this is 336D revenge day, as my 336D just started knocking some bad while tilling my garden. :sigh:

I guess you can take a break while you watch me tear mine apart and cost me a fortune as well :(

WARNING: If anyone reading this also owns a 336D.. Don't start it up today!

Here's a good Guess #2 cyl. If I remember you sent that head out. Not your Fault. S_ Happens. But again back to replaceing the Rings. You would have known the Rod and would have known of the potential problem. Bent valve Crack in the head etc. If it was one of the grumpy Old men I worked with I would have to take a good look behind me to see how much I had left if that left the shop.Lol. IMO they need to correct the prob.and a new H.gasket. Remember the Squeaky Wheel gets the Oil.

I would crank it up and see what you have after it has run for 5-10 min. You could have some carbon under a valve, etc. I think you are almost to be completed with this job.

Carbon build up on brand new valves and a freshly clean vatted head. NO!!!

Your Joken Right? Dirt dust or rust in or on a new Clean Head and cylinder. And big enough to prevent a valve from seating? Come on:confused2:
