Tractor
IH 274, Mahinhra 3505, Ford 8N,
Well not really, the tractor is still here. The engine is not firing properly. Tractor has 850 hours on it and has been well taken care of. The engine does not miss all the time, when under a load runs fine. Coming out from under load is when it does not run smooth. I have check for air leaks in the fuel line. Any you guys or gals got any thoughts. My dealer is 2 hours away, may have to haul it over to him. I don't see too many post on the 05 series tractors any reason? thanks Bill

Try changing the fuel filter, use some fuel conditioner that will clean, etc. With a diesel it almost has to be in fuel delivery.

Keith, I am sure you are right about the fuel being the trouble. We have changed the filters, but have not added any additive. Will do that in the morning, also will check air cleaner. I am pretty sure it is OK, It was changed not long ago. I am also sure we have had rain most every day sense.
No dust on our farm. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Bill

Bill,
There are probably a good number of 350 and 3505 owners out there, but the tractors run so well...there's nothing to talk about. I have a 350 DI. The little 115 ci diesel runs well and has plenty of power for a utility tractor. I think they were the best bang for the buck...simple, strong and inexpensive. Sounds like you may have contaminated fuel (water?) or a clogged filter. Good Luck.

I use Stanadyne's diesel fuel additive for my 3505 (as well as my wife's Ford F-350). Works well in both. You can buy their products from TYLER FUEL INJECTION SERVICE (903-593-3351), or go to the Stanadyne web site (http://www.stanadyne.com) to find another dealer. Of course, you can also buy diesel fuel additives at your local auto parts store that will work fine too.

OK guys, fuel additive has been added. I bought what my local parts house had. We will see what happens next, and will be sure and post results. It is time for digging in the dirt in my area. Will be planting soon. Bill
