One of these (or something similar) inline will solve your problem. I used one each on my TnT and you can dial in whatever flow (and flow equals speed) you need.

kenny & cocre, i also thought of an in line valve. there is already one on the front hitch of my tractor for the 366 snow blade. so you can turn off the hydraulics to the front hitch lift cylinder when you switch over to the fel which has its own lift cylinder. i thought this would be an easy way to regulate the mmm lift. till i looked up the parts on jdparts. WOW. union fitting LVU17419 $40.13 union fitting LVU17420 $54.60 and the most shocking---- the valve LVA14160 $180.00 ---- with tax about $300 to slow down the deck. i guess i'll have to try the $3 orifice.......bud

hello all, got the new orifice from jd. N204464 measures .046". a little bit smaller than the original, N275799 .052". parts said it is the only other size jd offers. i guess it made a slight difference. like another poster said, i'll have to learn how to how to be very gentle with the deck lift lever. funny pricing from deere. the original N275799 $3.55. the replacement N204464 $10.50. exact same part with a different hole size. oh well it was good experience.
