3600 PTO question. Live? Independent?

Problem solved. I decided to to do some adjusting and see what happens. What could go wrong? I turned the linkage rod in about 3/8-1/2 inch and voila the 2 stage clutch now functions properly. I have not attached a PTO driven implement yet so that will be the next test, but for now it seems things work correctly. I guess it may need some additional fine adjustment but it doesn't look like a split for now. Thanks again for the help.

just to be clear.. you do still have pedal freeplay .. right?

Yes I do. After initial adjustment I had about 1" of freeplay. In my operator's manual I found a reference that recommended 1.25" of freeplay for optimal clutch life. I readjusted so I have about 1.25" of freeplay and the 2 stage clutch works fine. Made me a happy boy. Thanks for the help and advice.

yep but atleast in the long run he got it fixed with just a simple adjustment instead of having to change the clutch

Thanks RickB, that makes sense, didn't before. And good on you, OP. Pay attention to the adjustment as you start to use the PTO so you know you always have free play. Those parts are expensive!
