3710hst trans filter

I was changing the trans filter on a 3710 hst and I had a heck of a time getting it off. I bought the tractor w/ 125 hrs on it and I was told all the recomended service had been done to the tractor. Well I don't think they changed the trans filter because when Ifinally got it off it seemed different from the one I got from the dealership. The new one seems light duty compared to the original which is much heavier, better constructed and it had an o ring instead of a flat rubber gasket seal.
Has any one else had this expierience?

I've changed the transmission filter and the hydro filter on my L3710 twice, the Kubota replacement filters are the same as the original equipment filters, (except the color, grey originals, white replacements). The old one may seem heavier because the element is saturated with oil?
