3720 Vertical Exhaust??

Well finally got around to installing vert. pipe on my 4720. Toughest part was drilling the cut out. After trying to position hole saw over cut out marks and having it skip round I located center point with a compass and then drilled a small divot in center. Instruction sheet says by the way.."drill 3.6" hole"! Not too many 3.6" hole saws out there. The rubber hood gasket wouldthen not fit (3.5" saw!), so I used a Roto-Zip to enlarge just a bit.

Actual installation of the pipe takes about 5 min. So now that I have a little "line of defense" for
branches when I'm in the woods, I'll probably back into one and nail the back glass!

Looks pretty good on your 4720. Had similar experience with drilling the hole on my 3720 hood.

Vertical exhaust is the best, I just built a stainless vertical system from the turbo out on mine with no muffler and no hole in the hood, I love it, and I will do a write up on it with pics soon.

I have ordered a 4105 with a loader, and on my current tractor (JD790 with a 419 loader) I have a vertical exhaust. I am thinking that I want to keep with the vertical exhaust, but I am curious if it is high enough in an open cab environment to keep the exhaust out of my face. Do you know the height of the exhaust?

I just measured 27 inches from the good to the top of the exhaust pipe tip
