Well more rain today in Ohio, not much one can do outside in this weather and since the garden is a mud hole we headed back to the barn and made a bit more progress on our project.

We kept the broken gearbox casting loosely assembled to keep it in alignment while we laid the brass to it on the outside of the casting. Then we disassembled the shafts and bearings so we could braze it from the inside as well. I believe the casting is most likely now stronger than it was when it was new. I'll hit it with the POR-15 epoxy tomorrow before it's reassembled and put back into the lathe gearbox.

Hello, whats going on with this lathe project? I just purchased the same model of lathe and would love to see some other detailed pics! I have a problem with the clutch on mine.
