Re: 3830 won\'t start after 50 hour service, help!

The one thing that caught me on the Kubota is the fuel shutoff valve. When I was in the Army the valve "on" position was in-line with the flow of the fuel. The Kubota fuel valve is perpendicular to the flow.

Just my two cents..

Re: 3830 won\'t start after 50 hour service, help!

It sounds like your fuel filter change. When you change your filter, you need to make sure your bowl has diesel in it. Also, you have air in your system which is normal for this maintenance work. On the right side of your engine (side your filter is on) there is a bleed valve which you open up. Start your motor with it open and let it run for a few seconds. This will bleed your system of air which then you close the valve and your back in business. I hope this helps. Steve

Heck with getting your fingers dirty or your brain smoking, Call the dealer and have them pick it up. Isn't it still under warranty?

So what do you think, 8 folks here say it's air in the injector lines. I think it's suffiicent to say that base is covered. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well I dont know, but sounds like air in the lines from here? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Bleed the lines only takes a couple minutes and should be good to go. !!

The only problem with that is that I strongly suspect that this isn't a warranty repair. Just a problem with not doing the bleeding. I'd hate to have to pay for a service call just to crack a couple of bolts and crank the engine.

Re: 3830 won\'t start after 50 hour service, help!

I agree Andy. If getting your hands dirty (they will possibly get a little dusty by lifting the hood and turning the thumbwheel) then I'm not even sure you need a tractor as much as someone to take care of your place for you. I mean after all, I get more dirt and grease on my hands changing from my mower to my boxscraper to my power rake then by greasing all the joints on my tractor. None of those items are "warranty items" although my dealer mentions there are folks that call them to change the mower to the boxblade or remove/replace the loader. They do it, but that service is not free. I think it's better learn and understand the problem, fix it yourself and know what to do again in the future or assist another person who might have the same issue. Rat...

Re: 3830 won\'t start after 50 hour service, help!

Thanks for all the advice. Hopefully I will find time today after work to bleed the air out of the lines (I am betting the wisdom displayed here is correct and it is in fact air in the lines). Believe me, I did not buy a tractor so that I could let the service department have all the fun of maintaining it. The whole reason I decided to do the 50 hour service myself was so that I could get to know my tractor a little better.

Thanks again for the help, I will post when I have it fixed!

Re: 3830 won\'t start after 50 hour service, help!

Well, after a quick glance at all these posts, I bled the fuel lines and my 3830 was running as perfect as ever.
Thanks for all the advice TBN!
