My B6000 came with the 'standard?' Kubota rotovator. i.e it's bolted to the pto, pivots at the pto-end sprocket and is lifted by 2 arms. From reading postings, it looks like I could take off the rotovator and convert the lifter unit to a Cat1 3ph. Are there ready made kits for this, or is it a bend-it-and weld-it job?

I'm baffled as to where the middle arm would be connected on the tractor. I also live in England, before you recommend your local friendly tractorman in Iowa etc :)

I have a B6100 and a Kubota rototiller. I'm pretty sure the B6100 and B6000 are pretty close since my owner's manual covers both models.

My rototiller attaches to standard Cat1 3ph lower lift arms. The top link is not a standard top link but rather a pivot-link type of affair that replaces the top-link using standard pins. The PTO looks pretty standard in that it is a shaft with u joints at both the tiller and PTO ends and a sliding spline between. It slips onto the tractor PTO with a standard spline.

I think that your pivot-link is probably bollted to the tractor and if you remove the bolts, you could slip a standard cat1 top-link in and insert a pin to attach it when you wanted to use other implements. You probably wouldn't need to do anything to the lower arms.

I'll take pictures this weekend and post them for reference. I also have both the tractor and rototiller user's manuals so I can scan in pages for reference too.

More later this weekend.

Many thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing the photos, although it doesn't sound like my rotovator from the description.

On mine, there's no lower lift arms. The unit is bolted solidly to the frame at the pto, and is lifted by a pair of inverted L shaped arms (jointed) which attach directly to top of the rotorvator with pins. Does this make sense?? I'll take some photos of the business end myself this weekend, but have a look at it from the front on my website www.chapel-view-farm.co.uk/tractor.jpg Perhaps it might jog someones memory

That end of yours looks very similar to mine - see attachment.

I can't picture in my mind what you're describing for the back end. Maybe posting of the photos this weekend will sort it out.

Hux:

As promised, here's the pictures...

The first is the 3ph on my tractor. This picture is with the box scraper attached. The rototiller does not use the same top link as you'll see in next posts but it attaches to the lower 3ph arms just like any implement.

Here's the rototiller. Kubota model FS850. The owner's manual does not say that it is for a B6000 - only a B6100 so it may not be the same as yours.

By the way, my owner's manual is for the B5100, 6100, 7100 not the 6000. However, I do have a sales brochure for a B6000 and it lists a "3-point hitch (with fixed hitch)" as optional equipment. So maybe that's what you have.

Finally, for what it's worth, here is the top link for the rototiller.

Here's another, showing the mechanism from above. I'd also be grateful if anyone can shed light on the
purpose of the blue post that sticks up into the air from the rotovator. It has a tow-hitch type assembly on the end, but it's far too high to couple anything onto.

Most of what you are missing is for sale on EBAY right now. Do a search on Kubota and you should be able to find it. Shipping might be costly for your location, but its worth a look.

Hux:
The attached image is from the parts manual of a B6100. I suspect that you need the equivalent assembly (Ref #1 - i.e. all of the parts) for your B6000.

Hope this helps.

WVBIll, and VON

Thanks for all the info. I had a look at the 3ph on EBay - seems good value at $219, but there's no top link shown (plus I live across the 'pond') Nothing listed for kubota on ebay.co.uk. I think that Kubota is a minor-league supplier here in the UK, compared to JD,NH,Case etc

Still doesn't get round the problem of the mini-sized, reverse spinning pto on the 6000!!!

I know that there are reverser/converters available, but by the time I've got one of these, plus the 3ph bits, I may as well buy a cheap full size tractor with everything as standard. I could pick up an old Fergie T20 for around £800, possibly even less as so many farms here in England are going bust :-(

Thanks again for your help - really appreciated.
