using the position control lever, should the implement move smoothly as I move the lever back to raise the implement ? Mine seems to want to move in steps as I slowly raise it . Going down is smooth as silk . Thanks , John

Having operated only one tractor with a 3pt hitch, this isn't a definative answer.. but my JD4300 raises very smoothly... regardless of how much weight is on there.

Those controls on Kubotas tend to be squirrelly. I had to play with the fine adjustments on mine a few times. As to up/down/dump/curl, all should be smooth.

sounds like you might be low on hyd oil or have a restricted filter or a restriction elswhere. Oil is not free flow to the pump.

Deerlope .
I suspect you may be right . The fuid level is good . So the may well be something clogging up the works .
The machine has only 10.5 hrs on it , so I'll let the dealer figure it out . Thanks , John

Well, I finally got around to contacting my dealer today . the tech agrees that it's most likely a filter . They offered to come out , but, I'd just as soon do it myself for the experience .
Question (s) Is there a strainer , or prefilter on a 3130 ? I suspect there is ,as to clog a filter of that size would take a lot of foreign matter !! if so where ,and how do I get at it ? How much fliud will I lose change the filter ?
While I'm at it I'm doing the engine oil and filter . I'm sure there might be some stuff left over from the manufacturing process ther as well .
Thanks for putting up with my incessant newbie questions !
John

If your tractor is in warrenty I would let the dealer do the trouble shooting. They get paid for it. On the new grand L series the dealers want to do the first 50 hr. service because sometimes there are chips (metal) in the system, left from the manufacturing process. It sure put the warrenty back on the dealer where it belongs. Also the fluid that you will have to replace is not cheap. I don't know how much it will take but why should you pay for it.
