Arrrrggghhh.... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I just noticed that my 3PH isn't raising to it's full up position. I had noticed a few weeks ago that my rear blade didn't lift very high off the ground, but when I looked at it again, it was fine. I chalked it up to an observation error on my part. This weekend though, I can certainly say that it does not come up all the way. When I move the lever to it's full up position, the arms come up about 2/3 of the way and stop. I can lift them by hand all the way, but they just drop back down again. I checked my hydo oil level and it is fine, so the hydraulics shouldn't be getting starved. Any other suggestions? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks,
Dave

If it were a Kubota B2710, I know where there's a simple adjustment, but I'm not familiar with that Deere. However, I'll bet if you look at what rods or linkages move when you raise it on up by hand, you'll see where the adjustment is. Or your Operator's Manual should show the adjustment (at least Kubota's do).

Does anyone have any ideas about this? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Have you called your dealer to ask him? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dave,
I have a service manual. I'll take a look tonight and see if anything like that is covered. I'll get back to you later.

From what I can tell, the manual says to try this (6) first.

Don't ignore that comment on those instructions that the "lift arms should have a small amount of play at full raise" because if it's still trying to raise more, you'll have a relief valve open all the time the lever is in the full raise position.

Bird, is there any way you might be able to tell me how to adjust the 3PH lift height on the B2710? I have a B2910 and I don't think mine is lifting high enough. My operator's manual has nothing in it (I cannot find it. There is a lot I cannot find. ) on how to do it. My manual covers the B2710,B2910 and the B7800.It was printed in 2003. Thank you very much in advance for any help. Also I wanted to ask how your wife is doing?

Richard, the manual for my B2710 (hmm, now I wonder if it was the Workshop Manual instead of the Operator's Manual) had instructions with pictures. First thing is to raise it all the way with no implement on it, then just try lifting the two arms higher by hand. I don't have the manuals anymore, so not sure I can remember all the numbers, but you should be able to easily lift those two lift arms about a half inch (the little bit of play mentioned in OkieG's attachment). If you have more play than that, then you may want to make the adjustment so it will raise higher. Now how am I going to describe this without a picture? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Instead of a turnbuckle, as shown in OkieG's attachment, the B2710 had a threaded rod running through the little lever? that controls the oil flow to the 3-point cylinder inside the housing under the seat. You'll find that threaded rod with linkage connected to the top of the right lift arm. There is a jam nut on each side of lever it runs through (10mm nuts, if I remember right). You can loosen those nuts so you can adjust the distance that threaded rod will go through the other piece.

Not a very good description maybe, but I think when you raise the lift arms by hand while watching the linkage connected to the right one, you will probably see for yourself and understand how it works.

Thanks OkieG!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That was exactly the problem. The jam nut had loosened on my assembly, and I could see bright threads where the turnbuckle has vibrated loose. In fact it had loosened so far that the entire assembly was only about 1/2 turn from coming completely apart.

I guess I am going to need to get me one of those service manuals if I am going to keep avoiding having my dealer do this type of work. Do you know if JD still has them available?

Thanks again!

Dave
