WOW Iv been workin on tractors at a jd dealership for almost 15 years now and have never even thought of a 3pt hitch havin down psi!!!!!!!!!!. cool idea never seen it . I guess a simple hitch with a doubl acting cyl could do it. but no normal rockshaft type hitch could do it.

I am shocked that it does not have the ability to lift the back tires off the ground. The engineering design was there 50 years ago.

The engineering is pretty simple. But not needed or wanted in most 3 point hitch applications. The implement usally needs the ability to float... not be rock solild. Solid hitch would be a nightmare when plowing, etc on uneven ground.

Why do you need down pressure anyway? Just curious.

540' road to the orchard is only clay throught the woods. With down pressure I could push down and cut and level w/o putting on the garden box. Lazy man, also I am missing a bolt on one of the back wheels and the alignment is slightly off. I used a floor jack and loosened the bolts to try to get a few mm movement to get the bolt in but failed. I believe the back tires may be heavier than I want to wrestle with, probably loaded. I have a quick hitch that has never been on a tractor and may try it but I have too many other more pressing house to do jobs. If I could set the height of a blade or gardenbox and not float I could level out the crushed limestone pad approx 80' x 80' and 18" thick. A good tractor man could do it but for me I do a poor job. Without a 3' contractor rake it would not look as good as it does. I finish and start again because of a low spot that catches water. ---Fuseboxer

The deluxe feature of a large 880 Oliver includes a switch to have down pressure or turn off the switch and it floats. Fusebuster
