Backhoe 3pt Backhoe removal and storage question

Hi,

I was able with the help of my dealer's rep to take off my B4672A Hoe off my B7610 tractor. (By playing with the stabilizers, Boom, Dipper and 3 pts).

What made me a bit wonder about them is that he didn't follow the instruction written in the documentation (he unhooked the bottom pins first and also took off the pins of the 3pt limiter Hitch) and it took almost 2 hours to take it off and back on..... which I believe it's not normal for someone who supposely knows how to do this.

But I have a question for medium to long term storage, since I plan on removing the hoe in the winter.

With the bucket on the ground and some pieces of wood under the other end of the Hoe (under the mainframe near the hydaulic oil tank) we kept the hoe at the level needed to put it back on the 3 PH.

My question is can anyone tell me what is the safest way to store it for around 4-5 months (since I know I cannot repy on Hydraulics that would be dangerous). Can I put the piece of wood under the bar that normally goes under the 3pt lower arms (3pt limiter hitch)? is it strong enough to hold the Hoe weight? If anyone has a picture on how the store it I would really appreciate it.

My experience with the dealers hired help is that they have never read the manual. I suspect that you will do better by following the manual's instructions next time you take it off.

I don't know how the 3pt. hoe is setup but I would suggest building a wood platform that would not interfere with anything important to support the hoe.

I have been trying to figure this out myself(although mine is a sub-frame mount). /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Do you fully extend the boom and bucket or just drop the bucket to the ground? My manual says to fully extend everything but it seems that if I block it, I could just drop the bucket and bleed the pressure. Sure would save space, but there is probably a really good reason for fully extending everything.......?

Thanks a lot Ron,

I looked at the posts and I will try to build a dolly like yours.
The B4672A hoe seems a lot like the B4690, except that yours has a longer reach and is a little heavier.

I plan to store my Hoe inside my garage (wich has a concrete slab). There is way to much snow here in winter..... I would loose my hoe under it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I see that the limiter bar can stay locked on when stored, (that answered one of the questions I was asking myself).

Is your Dolly builted Like Hayden's in the post you refered me to (i.e. one piece)?

Do you drop the bucket at the edge of the dolly first and the bring it back closer after to put the mainframe on the other end (the part closer to the tractor) or do you take it completely off and then bring the bucket on?
