I can't add to what Indydirtfarmer wrote, but I will offer you a suggestion. Go to Ebay and buy a manual for your 71 Flexi planter. There is a guy on Ebay who sells factory manuals, I bought mine from him, I think it was about $8.95. Well worth the price.
