Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

Yup, those would be the type. Can't see an easy way to order 4-5 though. Have you ordered from them before?

Dave

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

CTyler, thanks for providing those links. They gave me the right "words" to find them on the internet. If anyone wants them they appear to be available at http://www.mcmaster.com

Thanks again guys, you just saved me and my fat fingers some time when hooking up implements! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Have a good one,
Dave

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

I had the same problem with these pins. Started using a larger hairpin clip.

I bought 3/8 inch "ball spring loaded pins
A 3/8” pin will work. But the original is a 10 mm (.394”).

I bought a spare set after I lost the set that came with tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I did find them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It took a week to get the spare set. They are not a dealer stocked item. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have attached a picture showing the larger hairpin that I use.

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

That's strange that they don't use a 12mm like the larger ones use. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif You would think that they would use the same size, no more different in size than they are. It would cut down on inventory. The 12 mm ones have a handle and a chain on them.

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

dmftoy1, I found mine at a True value, but think if you went to any hardware store and started looking at clevis pins, you'd be in the right spot in the store.

Someone else pointed out here that I should have 10mm, which is likely true, but with a slop fit in the holes, I don't notice my implements moving around.

The second link that CTyler posted looks like what I bought, minus the safety wire.

Best wishes,
Ron

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

I replace all my kotter pins that were frequently removed with hairpins, if necessary I drill out the holes so the hairpins would fit. This works okay, I do like the Detent Clevis Pins idea; however, I've had one of these to "freeze" on me before.

BTW the technical term that I have always called the telescopic stablizer control links were "check chains".

Re: 3pt \"expansion\" pins?

I did a search on "detent pins" and then clicked on the "pins" link. The one's I ordered were the cheap ones, but they had some really nice one's with handles, button releases, etc. The part# for what I ordered is: 98320 A373
