Ed I had a massive brain fart about a sweeper I made for my cousins tractor. I monded pillow block bearings under the belly of the tractor one under the back and one under the front. I used 1 1/4 bar stock and ran the shts all the way to the rear. I machined the yoke off and old cast steel snap lock pto yoke. I then bored a sproket out and heated it and pressed it onto the modified yoke. I used a 70 18 to weld it up and then mounted it onto the pto. I took the 1 1/4 inch shaft on the bottom of the tractor and put a smaller sprocket on that end and then I had a PTO that ran under the whole machine. I used his phd drive shaft to make the connection to the sweeper. He doesnt use limit chains on it because it has to be 4 feet off the ground before he has and u joint knocking. Ive done a few of these conversions they work out handy because of all the holes under the tractor at the rear and the front.
