Need your opinion on the Chinese made 3Pth chippers. Has anyone perchased/used one - is it worth my dime for one? I won't be using it commercially, just where the logger made a mess.

We have sold way over a hundred of these woodchippers,with very minor problems. Most have been with the knuckles on the feed roller,not a big problem ,and the feed roller belt.The chinese quality is not very good.We have a cross over # to a gates belt.They are a great bargain for the money. Let us know if we can help you,we also have all the replacement parts for them in stock.

Check out the thread as suggested. I just got mine and so far so good. Took my time putting it together and checking everything very close. See my posts about not trying to chip old wood. For the price and features, good deal.

The Jimma seems to be about the cheapest chipper that will do bigger than 3" pieces in the approximately $1500 price range. About the only chippers anywhere near this price are the DR chipper and the MacKissic. The MacKissic is a chipper/shredder at around $1400-1700 depending on whether you buy it locally from a dealer or from Northern Tool (a friend of mine recently got his TPH-122 from Northern and has to put parts of it together, like you apparently have to do with the Jinma). If you want a chipper/shredder from DR, you'll have to pay up around $2500, I've heard. The guy who bought my Gravely MacKissic has one of the DR chipper-only rigs and likes it. I've had various DR equipment. They make pretty good stuff. Bought my MacKissic because the local JD dealer offered them, and I kinda liked the one I had on my Gravely.
On that thread indicated for the Jinma, you can read about folks expressing opinions about buying Chinese, American, etc., too. It's a LOOOOONG thread.
