Kioti 3510
I have a third function installed on my Kioti 3510 using the flat-faced skid steer connectors.

I can never get it connected without completely unscrewing all of the connectors and releasing pressure on both the tractor side and the attachment side.

I never have this problem with my rear remotes (pioneer connectors).

I always release the pressure on the tractor side of the hydraulics...

What am I doing wrong?

I don't use flat faced connectors, but I occasionally have to release pressure on my 3rd function lines like this :
Turn the tractor off
Turn the key to run
Power the solenoid, and operate the 3rd function
Make connections.

Do you keep the pressure off your implement before you disconnect? What I mean is, do you drop the grapple (or whatever) with the cylinder in the middle of its stroke --- or at the extreme open or closed position?

If I drop mine with the cylinder NOT at the end of its stroke, then my hoses aren't flexed with pressure and I don't have one side of the system pressurized to the max. Lets you hook up without needing to relieve pressure on whichever side is fighting you. You don't have the cylinder and hoses "locked" to one side or the other and neither hose is at the full pressure of your hydraulic system.

I've never had to break any fittings on the TRACTOR side to get an implement hooked up. Something doesn't seem right there . . .

IMO, keeping the attachments hoses looped together works best. Helps to keep dirt out too. Weather changes don't seem to build pressure in the loop regardless of cylinder position.

I agree with this. Temperature changes is what is causing the pressure. The tractor side is easy to equalize.

When disconnecting if you park your attachment, turn machine off then cycle the valves it would put the attachment your disconnecting in a good position to re hook at a later time.

Flat face connections are a total pain in the ass though. Granted my AG connectors are prety far away from where any dirt would easily get to them.

I HAD flat faced on my skid loader. Changed them to Pioneer soon as I bought the machine. Flat face I agree are a PITA. Mine went in the scrap can.

Flat face allow more flow, thats why they are used. But they are a PITA to connect. Thats why i use the attachment tool for past few years.

I have one of these as well to help with my flat-face connectors for my third function. I need it maybe 1/3 times I'm connecting the grapple.
