Howdy from Texas Everyone, thanks to yall for everything you do on this forum as it has been my go to before buying my very first tractor which is a:

BX2380
FEL
Grapple (LP)
Box Blade (LP)
54inch Mid Mount Mower (non-drive over)
3rd Function Valve
Land Pride Quick Hitch
R3 Tires
Liquid Ballast Rear

Anyways I know this is not a introduction forum but I wanted yall to know what is on the tractor should that help yalls opinion of my situation which is:

1. Tractor received yesterday from the dealer with all options dealer installed.

2. I started messing with the joystick and noticed that the Up/Down Loader function was VERY STIFF like stiff enough to where I had to put some strength into it to move it.

3. This stiffness actually causes the loader to be stuck in up or down without me even touching the joystick (dangerous I would think)

4. I asked the delivery guy what was wrong and he has stated that it is very normal for these 3rd function valves to take a little bit to break in which requires a lot of loader work to get it broken in. Is that true at all?

5. It just doesn't make a ton of sense that the side to side (tilt) function works incredibly well and with ease compared to the up and down. I would really think that the left to right would be affected the most considering that is what the grapple/3rd function uses anyways to open and close the grapple.

This is very frustrating and want to know if he was just saying what was necessary to deliver the tractor or if it was legitimate? Thanks guys.

Sounds like BS to me. If the linkage is lubricated properly and still has problems then have the dealer fix it.

Thank you very much.

Yes, BS is being polite...my guess is the guy who installed the wire on the joystick messed something up, or it just needs lube as suggested above.

Is the valve possibly separate spool valves bolted together? If so, maybe the common bolts holding the valves together are too tight binding a spool in the valve that is acting up?

I know nothing about that model tractor so I started doing some research.
At about 5:02 the guy in this video starts talking about the loader valve and states that
1) It is sometimes pretty stiff
2) that the valve body is up in the fender and linkage operated and not by cables.

However- it should NOT be sticking in any position (except if it has a forward detent for float but you should be able to feel it drop into the detent) and I would have the dealer recheck / lube / whatever the linkages until it did not stick anymore.

As others have said - the 3rd function (which in your case sounds like a selector / diverter valve off the curl/dump function) would have absolutely nothing to do with the lift/lower function being stiff / sticking.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Dealer came out and opened up panel under joystick and literally just had the through-bolt too tight causing the issue. I feel silly for not just fixing myself but I didn't feel it was my fix being that the tractor came like that. Anyways thanks again. Now to practice and learn about this workhorse....

Having a system that can be bound-up with an overtorqued bolt is kind of, um, interesting.

Yes I don't think the assembler paid mind to torque specs so i am going through and checking all readily accessible bolts and torqueing to factory specs. Great way to dig in and get to know my equipment.

The spool is precision fit to the valve housing. Too tight bolt(s) can flex/bend/compress the housing enough to bind up the spool. Your's was not the first.
