3rd function valve on Kubota

Jim, take the plastic nut off, remove the magnet, take a wrench and unscrew the valve. When you get the valve out look for anything sticking in the ports of the valve. Also make sure all tho o rings are intact. Sometimes you find the problem and other times you don't find anything and put it back together and everything works fine. The valve itself can be taken apart further, but since it is under warranty I wouldn't.

I went to my dealer today, not a good day to do so, almost everyone was off, except the owner, he offered to send a man to my place, 50 miles away, to look at the tractor, but advised he could not get parts until next week, even Kubota has taken a vacation at this tiime of the year. I offered to take the valve apart and clean, and replace to see if this helped, then called him back to report that I found nothing foreign in the valve and it looked clean to me, he said he will send a man up here with a new valve when he gets it, I don't mind waiting, I can still use the blade to back scrape and the blowrer for large amonuns of snow.

The valve is definately sticking, the angle function needs power and when I press the button to angle my test light, lights and the plow angles,after I release the button the blade should tilt, the test light is out and the plow still angles. not much doubt that the soleniod is sticking or binding.

The dealer seems to think the valve body is warped and causes binding of the piston, he is probably right.

I'll keep you posted, it may be only next week sometime.

Hi Everyone,

I sent an email to ALO, Sweden, the maker of loaders for Kubota, they call them Quickie S40, Kubota calls them M40 loaders, after explaining my problem I asked for help in finding out the problem with my hydraulics, this morning I received a phone call and their troubleshooter asked me a few questions and came up with this response, the third valve is usually installed by the factory but sometimes it is installed by the dealer, installing a third function valve simply involves installing a servo valve and the plumbing for the hoses that would angle my plow, also connecting one of four plugs for electric control from the joystick. The problem comes when the servo valve is installed, it is round and has two possible ways of being installed, if you are not careful making sure the ports on the servo valve match the ones on the hydraulic spool valve you have a problem like mine, I was told to remove the servo, check the matching of the ports and if not matched to rotate the servo valve, each part has 5 ports, two on one side of the face and three on the other, seems simple if you know what you are looking for, the problem is that the wires come from the left when facing the valve and one would assume the Solenoid would be on the left, which if done this way causes the ports not to be in allignment, the reason my valve had limited use, is because two of the ports are slightly oval and when installed wrong will still partly cover the three holes but will not operate properly.
I removed the servo valve, rotated it 180 degrees, re-installed and now everything works perfectly.

I glad you finally got things straightened out. I am also impressed with ALO having a tec give you a call to help solve the problem. So many companys want to do everything by email nowdays. When I am having problems I want to talk to a real person.

Back to view this old problem, today, Dec 24,2018 I decided to try and find out what is wrong now, having not used this plow since 5 or 6 years I now find that my plow will not angle, so decided to read and see what the original problem was, the valve body at that time had to be rotated and my problem was solved, this time nothing works using the switch and buttons to activate solenoid that diverts the hydraulic oil to angle the blade, my problem has to be, either electrical or mechanical, I need help details in doing both, I am getting old and need help using this forum, I lose my place and have a heck of a time getting back to where I was, I'm not going to quit, but it sure slows me down.
