4 in 1 Bucket Operation

Rich...

Yep...I just noticed the teeth you welded on. I, too, had planned on getting my dealer to weld these grabbing teeth onto my JD 4in1 until I noticed JD was already manufacturing the buckets with curvilinear teeth on the bucket edges that protrude about 2 inches out. I thought I would give this a try first before I welded anything onto the bucket. I haven't yet put this into practice....that is, grabbing and carrying logs. If I find it doesn't work, I'll get a welder to come out to weld similar rods onto my bucket edge.

Again, best pic I've seen yet in these forums on what a 4in1 can pick up and carry.

richh,

Thanks for the Long phone number. Your post has been very helpful.

I called Long and I have two bucket model options for my M6800. Bucket option 1 opens 48", weighs 850#, and costs $2200. Bucket option 2 opens 32", weighs 700#, and costs $1700 and is not as heavy duty.

I plan to later add a tooth bar. Right now I have two rear hydraulic remotes. One is hyd. top link. The other I plan to use for the bucket jaws.

Questions:

Would you know what bucket model or the weight for the one you have?

How much does youre tractor weigh?

Do you ever think the bucket weighs too much?

I have a decision to make and am asking for your thoughts.

Thanks,

jrpoux

Jim...

See attached pic of my 4 in 1 bucket. I bought this one from a JD dealer....it is not made by JD, but a third party manufacturer....don't know which one. Bucket is 60" width and cost me $1,370 which included the 3rd function hose kit and bucket hooks. Toothbar was an extra $266.

Would you mind calling your dealer and finding out who the bucket manufacturer is? That sounds like quite a deal with the hydraulics and all.
