OK, I'm new to this forum and just read/scanned the last 20 some pages of this thread and have to ask a few questions:

1. Hard, what model of truck is that beast in your avatar? Do you own one?

2. Thingie, how long does it take you to mow your grass when you let it go for 3-4 weeks? Man, I'd have to keep the tractor at a crawl. You do that with a Sears? That's 10 years old?

I think if I let my grass grow for 3-4 weeks here in western NY, it would take 3-4 weeks to mow it with any lawn or garden tractor

I see I got some fans,,thats to be expected,,well,maybe not 3-4 weeks,ok?,,but I make it a practice to never mow it more than once every two weeks,,right now,,when it grows its fastest,,mowed it for first time last friday,,it won't get mowed again till next week end,in summer,I go about 3 weeks,,we got over an acre of good dirt in this yard,so,its not any different than anywheres else on east coast north of south carolina,,now some places in the deep south,,they don't have grass,,just sand and I'm not talking about coast land,,these modern big yards are just a recent invention,,,we live in southern w.va.,,we **** sure don't water or fertilizer our yard,,some times in august we go a whole month without mowing,,old yard,,,this house is 80 years old,so yard has been there for awhile,,,craftsman worked good too,,mowed the yard,[A foot in spots],an acre or more,,with out stopping,,took me 3 hours,,think its on its 11th year,,old yardman lowes special started right up,its on it 13 or 14 th year,,I now mow the drive way with it every 3-4 weeks,,,done about 400 dollars in maintence on both total in those 14 years,,so,,you see,I gots my moneys worth,,thingy

I too have been turned away. They said I wasn't Yuppie enough! Told me I had to live in WV and use a mass produced tractor that I bought at a local hot spot. Something like a Yard Man from Lowe's or a Craftsman from Sears. Guess buying a tracor from a "tractor dealer" isn't hip enough to qualify as a Yuppie.

In order to get in Tractor Yuppie magazine, your tractor has to meet the following requirements:

1. It has to cost over $10k, and be brand new
2. It has to be painted a popular, showy color, preferably green
3. Your wife or SO has to be able to drive it to her law firm if her German luxury coupe is in for repairs
4. You need to have a signed petition from at least 50 neighbors or passer-bys who have seen your tractor and complimented you on how pretty it looks
5. Your tractor cup holder must have either a Starbucks mug in it, or two Cuban cigars
