4005 Questions

The 4005 will barely fit in an 8ft door, We have one, and clipped the edge of the door as it was hanging down while pulling in the shop. Luckily just a small dent (in the door of course!)

My only gripe about our 4005 is the lack of loader capacity. I guess it's ok for a Large compact tractor however with our forks installed it barely lifts 1000lbs.

Well, called JD today to see what kind numbers they can come up with to upgrade my 790 to a 990/4005. Wait n see.

Mines got the 3265 Bradco BH and the 300 FEL. Package deal from local dealer. Still waiting for reply from salesdude.

In case you still want to know, I measured the 4005 with R1 tires and the top of the ROPS is exactly 85 inches tall.

As for the lifting capacity of the 300cx loader on it - I shimmed the hydraulics to produce 2550psi and it lifts just fine!

Can you tell me your overall length with R1s and a loader-bucket down? Getting ready to order one. Thanks

Michellesc7 - I wish I could help you but I ended up getting a JD 4120 with loader instead. I would say that the above posts on 4005 height to the fixed ROPS with R4 tires is spot on...about 84 inches. R5 tires is 85 inches tall. Most standard garage door openings are just a bit too short. Not sure on length. Sorry I can't help more.

My first preference was the 4120 and 4320 with the loader 400CX and PST. Pricey. Could not find a used machine without hydro. What did you buy - new or used and set-up. And if you don't mind what kind of deal did you get?
