Michellesc7 - I actually found a used 4120 with 150 hrs, hydro, and loader for about the same price as a new 4005. PRT should run a little less than hydro from what I've seen. Have you looked at tractorhouse.com?

My 4005 4wd with R1s and the loader is about 12'8" in length from the bucket to the back of the tires. I paid 17,500 for the tractor and another 4,200 for the 300cx loader. If you buy one I hope the act of shifting gears is enjoyable to you.

I think it's a good idea to shim the hydraulic relief pressure to 2500ish - I assume they set it low since it is a lighter weight tractor and needs proper ballast for the loader.

Some people mentioned spending a little more for a 5045. The 5045 would have been too big and heavy for what I wanted even though it's not too much more in price. I actually think those tractors are kind of ugly, especially the huge flat fenders. My true love was the 5105/5205 that they stopped making, but it would have been too big also...

the square fenders look suspiciously like those on my big mahindra machine as I know those tractors (the 5000 D and E) are made in India!
yes the turning radius is terrible on the bigger machines and that's why i like the 16 inch front tires on the 4000 series tractors. kubota makes several tractors with a 20 front. 24 inch tires on the front makes a wide turn even using breaks. I have a bigger machine with 24 inch fronts.

the 4005 is a japanese yanmar.
the 4020 series are made here and there but assembled in augusta nearby to me. the engines are made in mexico or at least they were. ilike the 20 series even though it looks like an overgrown lawnmower.

i like my 1050 and it is gear, so i guess i would like the 4005 although the seat does lean aliitle forward and it is not as comfortable.

i keep finding 4120 and 4320 machines with R4 tires and hydros. i dont want those two items. but i have sat on a 4120 and i like its feel.

thanks for the dimensional info. i am looking at a dump trailer and i was going to get one large enough to haul a 4000 machine with loader.

regards
michelle
