4110-broken bolts-update

Well, since my last post on this subject I've talked to Mahindra a few times and it's just as I expected from the beginning - they aren't going to do a damned thing for me. They haven't even sent me the updated loader frame brackets they told me they would - has been over a month since the field tech, Dan Smith took my info. and said he would have them sent right away. Over 2 weeks ago, Tim in tech service was going to check the status of these brackets and see if Mahindra was going to do anything to help compensate for all my hassles & expenditures - he promised to call me the very next day, no matter what. That was over 2 1/2 weeks ago, haven't heard a thing. I'm tired of dealing with this company, a real mickey mouse outfit, they obviously won't stand behind their products once their legal warranty obligations are over and could care less about their customers. Perhaps if I had had an aggressive, high volume dealer nearby to help me with my problems, they might have gotten my problems resolved without all the hassles I went thru but I couldn't afford to take that gamble - the $700 I spent would surely have been 3 to 4 times that at a dealer if Mahindra wouldn't cover it, not counting the extra cost of days out of work and transpo costs. I do not recommend doing business with this company, unless you are buying your tractor for a "lawn ornament" - very light duty work. I guess if all I did was cut grass a few hours a month or move some cow manure from the barn a couple times a month it might have held-out for a few more years befors giving me trouble, but I bought my tractor to work with and I did not get my money's worth. 700 hours in 3 years is not heavy use, that's like a new pickup truck with maybe 12 or 15,000 miles on it, just barely getting broke-in good. I'm sure there will be plenty of you that will say your Mahindra has and is doing just dandy - and that I must have abused my tractor or just had a stroke of bad luck. Yea, my bad luck was seeing the Mahindras on the way to the Kubota dealer when I was ready to buy.

Ever hear the term "latent defect"??? Get a lawyer and have him/her send a nice letter to MahindraUSA. If, in fact the bearing was installed incorrectly and the tech rep saw/agreed that he had seen a few like that, they will listen to the letter, as they don't want any bad legal publicity. I think you have a slam dumk winner here...BobG in VA PS: Warranty period means nothing in latent defects. I could have been 20 years old and they would be held responsible. Any lawyers out there?? bobg

Somebody forgot to tell you only good things can be said about Mahindra on this forum or atleast that is the way it was supposed to be when I was complaining. I'm sitting here with a year and a half old 6000 4x4 that the clutch is well on its way to being out on. My dealer doesn't want to talk about it. The worst part is I still have about 200 rolls of hay to get cut. Hopefully I can get a decent trade in on this junk.

Isn't it interesting that dealers on this forum are quick to post remarks on praise, and when somebody wants to buy something around here, but they sure get mighty quiet when there is a major problem such as this. Why can't somebody help this guy?? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

it would be nice when you are posting about one issue if you reply to your original post. I had to go back to see the history of this and it has at least three different posts. This makes it difficult for people to follow along and also decreases the historical benefit if users do searches and come across only part of your information. Just a heads up.

I didn't see that a dealer had responded on here but then again they aren't required too. I would be interested to hear what the mahindra field rep said they would do for you when you called them. I apoligize in advance if you had already stated this somewhere. Your issue is a tough one as your warranty is expired, but I would tend to agree if it was an issue with misassembly that a mahindra employee has already pointed out it should be covered, not by warranty but by some type of lemon clause. I'm not a lawyer, but I tend to agree with Bob.

If I was in your shoes I would call mahindra, state that one of their employees diagnosed the problem and it was an error in assembly, and that all you want is the parts and labor to make it right. If they don't oblige, as your lawyer what your chances are for getting money back for the repair (minus court fees, legal fees, etc, could add up to be more than the original problem), inform mahindra you will be contacting the better business bureau, an attourney, etc. I would think that they would want to avoid that and the bad publicity.

Also, if one person at mahindra doesn't make it right, go up the food chain. Don't stop till you get satisfaction.

Hey, let's not let this post die off! Anybody out there have any news on this topic??? I've been following this one closely, and have not been too impressed with the support from Mahindra or the Mahindra network of dealers. Makes me very worried. Seems the only folks having good luck with their Mahindra around here are those with just a couple hundred hours or less on the tractor. Anybody having good luck with their Mahindra with more than 500 hours?? If you've got less than 300 hours and "having good luck" or "still loving it", I'm not too impressed. Who's got 500+ hours and the darn thing is still holding together well?? Let me hear from you... please.

I have a 4110 with 900 hrs. Bought it new 3 years ago. So far so good. I use it to bush hog, drill post holes, move dirt, pile up limbs, move round bales, pull a hay rake, pull a pecan harvester, and many other things. It's never been in the shop. I try to keep the fluids changed and the air filter and radiator clean.

Sorry I haven't been posting properly to the forum - this is the first online forum I've ever participated in and am learning the procedures, hope you all will bear with me. My original post was on April 20, and the second update was May 6, and then my last was June 7, for anyone not familiar with my postings.
