Price Check 4120 Price - Dealer trying to fool me

I got a quote for a 4120 - power reverser, r4s, 400cx loader, loaded tires for around $26k. Does this seem high to anyone else?

New to the board - been selling Deere (and others) for a little over 15 yrs. now...

I don't know what the market is like in Texas, but my normal price for the outfit you priced would be $26,282.84. This would include discounts of 3,137.63 from the list price of $29,420.47.

Slightly off topic - I have lurked on here for awhile and noticed that most people feel that 15% off list is a truly good deal on Deere equipment. I just wanted to let everyone know that as of 28Oct06 Deere lowered the List Prices (and Dealer Margin) on most of the C&CE equipment. The reason for this change was that Deere felt when people shopped online that their List Prices were too high, compared to the competition. This should not effect how much you pay for the equipment, just the amount of discount off list - at least that is true at my dealership!

I paid $30K for a 4720 (e-hyrdo) with 400X loader, standaerd bucket, frontier box blade, and a MX-6 mower.

Hi. I bought a 4320 with a 400x with heavy duty bucket pre-drilled for a replaceable cutting edge and filled R4s about 3 months ago. My price was $22,500 out the door. (It's farm use so no tax) $26,000+ seems quite high to me for a similar 4120. Beat 'em down some more!

Thanks for the input, I thought that seemed a little high. I'm not really into "beating down" a salesman. I want a fair price for him to make a living and me to be happy with my purchase.

That's what it's all about... guy feels like he got a reasonable shake with a dealer that's somebody he'd like to stay with for the long haul. Salesman and the dealer make enough to keep heat in the building and get the kid some braces.. Everybody's gotta have what they need!
That said --- the salesman might wanna sharpen his pencil. Have the kid get a scholarship to A&M instead of Harvard; you don't wanna pay his tuition.

Why don't you go get quotes from a number of dealers, present the lowest one to all the other dealers and keep on dealing till you get what is obviously the lowest price possible. After that, it won't matter what anyone else thinks.
Dealers aren't going to lose money on any deal no matter what they tell you. I laugh in their face when I hear that line. Beat em with quotes till they bleed!

I went to pick up my riding mower at the Deere dealer today and ran into the salesman. I told him what a great quote I got on a Kubota 4330 (close to 4120) and he said he thought he could sweeten the deal. Amazing how that works. I'll keep you guys posted.
