I've got a new (1.5 weeks old) JD 4210 4wd with the standard syncshift transmission. The shift lever runs through a plastic piece that has an H-shaped slot routed out to guide the shift lever. What I've found is that when I shift it into 3rd, a lot of times it will go into reverse unless I make a concerted effort to pull the lever over towards me. I've already had a service man come out and work on it once. He replaced something, but it still does it. It's not as bad, but the problem remains. I don't think it's a transmission problem... just some kind of lever adjustment thing getting the shifting aligned with the guide. When I'm trying to shift to 3rd, the last thing I want to happen is for it to go into reverse. Anybody else out there with a syncshift transmission encountered this problem? Were you able to fix it?
