No...I never posted a build thread. I posted pictures of the cab a few years ago under my old member name (beechwood). I have since sold the 180, but if anyone is interested in getting a few ideas for building a cab let me know and I will post the cab pictures in a new thread.

I found the old thread but the pics are gone. I kind of remember them but I sure would like to see them again as I'm seriously considering building one for snow removal. It's been getting old driving out in the open in foul weather. Or I should say I'm getting old. Did you have a windshield wiper on it?

You could build one or get one of these. If anyone is interested I will find the thread I found it in

There must be 50 different versions of this with all different amp draws. Started to buy one but it stayed warm in my cab, so I really never needed it.

12 Volt Heater / Defroster
The cab that I built for my pt isn't like the ones that you built , the 425 doesn't have the room between the hood and the back of the seat. I made the roof out of metal and a metal frame of about 1 inch square tubing. I bent the tubing so that it was wide up to the top for the canopy and to accommodate my shoulders and tapered inward toward the bottom to match up with the tub. I made the doors to swing open like suicide doors, and made them so that they were easy to take off and to put on. The windshield I made so that the top is out a little farther than the bottom of the window, which it seems to keep rain from getting on the windshield bad enough to have to use wipers, which at this time I don't have any on it but intend on someday doing if I ever see that I need to. I used plexiglass for the windows so I was able to bend it to match the contours of the frame. I have near total visibility all the way around it. I bought a small electric heater for mine also that I could plug into a 12 volt plug in, but like you I have found it unnecessary to use no colder than it has got for the last several years around here but just in case I need it I have it. I made mine light so that it is easy to take off and put on by myself. I still have several things that I intended to do to it , but it works well the way it is so I have neglected to finish it the way I planned to. The last couple of years I have only took the doors off during the summer, but it won't be too much longer that I'll have to get the doors back out and put on. I am almost computer illiterate or I would post pictures of it. My son is a computer software engineer but as of right now I don't have the desire to learn about computers, too much other stuff going on right now I guess. I showed pictures of it to Tractor Doc when I went toget the finish mower that he had for sell.

Not sure about the 425 but, it was very tight in the back around my cab also. As you can see by the pictures I had to taper the frame for the articulation to just miss the hood. I just took the side windows out during the summer and it was fine.

No wipers were needed as I had the front window striaght up and down along with the lip you see at the top. It kept the rain off of the windows just fine. You can also see an arm rest if you look. My right arm rested on that and the other on the knob most of the time, it was very comfortable working inside.

The front and back windows were made of heavy gage lexan the front window took a couple of hard blows from dead trees when working in the woods, it protected my face more than a couple of times.
This setup gave me more than enough head and arm room, I even had a tool box secured down by the right arm rest.

If I wanted to take the cab off. I had to take out the large front window along with about 15 bolts screws, and tilted it backwards to miss the ROP"S. I needed someone on the other side as it was a little hard to do by myself, then it came off. The floor and seat panels had to be taken out separately.

You should get someone to take some pictures of your Cab, we would love to see some pic's. Sounds like you did a nice job. :)

Now that’s really reaching back. I never did get around to putting a cab on any of the tractors. Now days I can just wait till the sun comes out.

Bumping a 13 year old discussion for reference in the Power Trac forum....

Thanks for bumping this for me. I went back a bunch of pages of posts, but didn't go anywhere near this far back.
