I have tried everthing I can thinl of.

I switched loaders myself, when I upgraded from the 420.

My 430 loader usually stops partway up when raising. I can get it to go up by pulling the joystick to 8 o'clock. I can't get the bucket to dump when it's high. I have to lower it about halfway. I can't roll the bucket down when the the boom is lowered, I have to raise it a little and then roll it then lower again. fast dump actially rolls the bucket up.

I have tried cycleing it through all motions, and hold ot full on.

I'll try the dealer on tuesday, but any ideas would be appreciated...

Right off the bat... you have two hydraulic lines connected backwards... (getting reversed motions from expected)

(If the hoses from the loader are connected properly, then the steel lines going to the coupler are wrong)

Roll back works OK, and slow dump, just not fast dump.

I'm with JMIII - sounds like something is wrong with the plumbing for the hydraulics, allowing fluid to flow the wrong way when you go to Fast Dump. If the problem is not in your quick disconnect hookups, then it sounds like something is wrong in the hard lines or internally in the valve(s). The fact that you can get the loader to raise fully by putting the joystick at the 8 o'clock position also sounds like fluid being misdirected in the normal 6 o'clock position /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.

Sounds like it is time to get your loader manual out and check the hydraulic diagram. If you have only one pair of hoses in the wrong place there will be strange things happen. It shouldn't be very hard to follow the diagram to find the problem.

OK I tried swapping the lines. The actions moved with the swaps. No real change, so it is more than just misconnected disconnects. The tech had warned me to double check 'em when I hooked it up; since he wasn't checking it on the tractor.

It almost acts as if there is a giant bubble in the system. As far as I can tell, it seemed ok when I had the 420.

Might be a stupid comment, but I always like to start with the obvious which is sometime overlooked.
Did you re-fill your hydraulic reservoir after hooking up the new loader? The new loader would have no fluid in the lines or cylinders. When you first use it the lines/cylinders will fill, but will make your tractor reservoir low.
This thought came when you say it acts like a giant bubble in the system.
Hey......'ya never know?

Thanks - I did re-fill it, and check it often, 'cause I take the hoe on and off.
BTW the hoe works as smooth as silk...

Mike:

One other thought: The Bush Hog loader I had for awhile had a small problem that gave the dealer fits - said they had never seen anything like it. When I tried to slowly raise the FEL for "precision" FEL work /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, the loader would actually drop slightly, until I added more joystick, then it would jump farther than I wanted it to move. When the dealer finally talked to "an ol' boy that really knows hydraulics," he said it sounded like a damaged O-ring in one of the cylinders. He told them how to check it, and sure enough .... they said it must have been damaged during assembly, and didn't show up until it had been used under working pressures for awhile (i.e., covered by warranty on the loader).

Apparently, when I tried to move the loader up just a little, the back pressure from the weight of the FEL exceeded the pressure from the joystick valve for a while, allowing the cylinder to move the wrong direction. When I added more joystick, the pressure on the joystick side was higher, so the loader raised.

Possibly you have something like this happening. On the 4310, the Joystick valves are mounted near the seat, if I recall correctly, not on the loader -- so you probably did not change the joystick valves when you changed loaders - right? If so, the problem almost has to be in the hydraulic plumbing on the loader itself - either installed incorrectly at the factory or possibly an O-ring or something not functioning correctly. It would be a very large coincidence if the joystick valve just decided to fail when you put on the new loader. (I am certainly not an expert on hydraulics, but I usually do pretty well troubleshooting problems, otherwise.) Hope this gives you something to work with, rather than increasing the confusion /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.

I'll call dealer in AM and see if they gotta clue...

I appreciate the kind Advice!
