4310 MID PTO wont work

There are two connectors that plug into the 3 solenoids on the bottom of the tractor and they love coming unplugged by a stray stick that was recently overran by the loader or boxblade. One of the connectors has 2 wires while the other has 4. the connector with 2 goes to the mid pto(front solenoid!). I dont figure there is a backwards way of plugging them in. the middle solenoid goes to the MFWD and it is the bottom 2 pins in the 4 terminal connector. the top 2 pins go to the rearmost solenoid which is the rear PTO. When bounty hunting the problem, I couldnt imagine why there was 3 solenoids down there then theres the question of what do they do? the MFWD slipped past my mind, especially as I was chasing wires and wondering why these two pins were hot all the time? duh the 4wd was engaged! :licking:

That is a bit different from my 4300 then. On my connector for the mid PTO, it is position specific. Will only plug in one way.

The wires on the soleniods are vulnerable on the 4x10 series tractors. I have been under mine and zip tied the wires as high and tight as I can.

Almost all problems on these tractors should start with a thorough under tractor inspection. BTW Congratulation on the repair!

Im still wishing I could find a skid plate kit! Its actually the rental equipment upgrade. its part #LVB25453 but dono how to make it happen? As for the repair, Im thrilled it came out so simply:thumbsup:

Sounds to me like you installed the mid pto improperly and squeal you're getting is you clutches....I'd remove it and check my instructions before something seriously is torn out.
