I plan on installing a soft side Curtis cab on my 4310. It will have windshield wipers, a heater, cooling fan, and front and rear working lights. Will all of these add-ons effect my 4310 in any way? Will I lose any HP? Should I upgrade my battery and alternator?

Your thoughts, please.

2flints,
I don't have exact numbers. But the power will have to come from somewhere to power those additions.
You will probalby not dip much in power running the lights and such maybe even the fans. I would venture to say upgrading the alternator or battery wouldn't hurt, but probably won't be necessary.
Are you mostly interested in maintaining power for the PTO or FEL cycling?
You may have to run the engine a bit faster, but that should be it. Unless you are planning on putting a heater on to melt the snow /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I work at a large car dealer and we have a 4400 with a curtis cab with hard sides. This tractor is only used in the winter for snow removal in tight spots. We have not done any upgrades to it and have not had any trouble. The windows tend to fog a bit ,there is no heater. I am not so sure you will need heat ,you will get quite a bit off the engine. The one addition we did last year was an exaust stack because of fumes in the cab.
