4310 vs. 3320

OK, I'm looking at the brochure, and it explains it as two seperate pumps tied together, just as you mentioned.
I mis-took that info as something new, but it must be something exclusive to John Deere tractors in general.

Like I said, I never had a problem with my 4300, and now I know why.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks for straightening this out for me.

I decided on the 3320 for the following reasons-

1 The 300CX loader is not available on the 4310- The 300 CX has significantly more capacity than the 430 loader on the 4310. The lift of the 300 CX loader is 1600 lbs, as opposed to 1258 for the 430.
2 I liked the additional visibility of the new loader also.

3 Another factor for me was the 448 backhoe (3320) verses the 48 backhoe (4310). The 448 backhoe provides more room in the operator station and has slightly better touch control.

I have had the 3320 for 3 weeks and love it- I am sure I would have liked the 4310 very much as well- Was it worth the extra 3K I paid? That is very subjective. I have allot of backhoe work to do so I put a real premium on that.

Not sure what your dealer was feeding you. I own a 4310 with a 300CX FEL.

I think you were correct to want the greater lifting capacity. Not trying to say you made a bad decision. Now that it is made, be happy with the 3320 and look forward to all the work you can accomplish. You should be very pleased with your purchase.

you are right that the 4310 can take the 300cx, however good luck finding a dealer that will sell you one that way at this point. All the dealers in my area already had the 430 loaders on the tractors. Since the 430 can't go on the 33xx they won't sell the 4310 with the new loader. I do love the tractor thougth and don't mind the extra money I spent.

I bought a 4310 in December and although my dealer said he could give me a bit better discount on the 430 FEL I stuck with my desire for a 300CX-which is what I got. A few hundred bucks was not worth the decreased performance. That being said he never pressured me into a 430-I think he knew what I wanted and saved most of his breath.

We drove a 3320 today and I really liked the idea of the smaller physical size than the 4310 but with plenty of power. Should I worry that the smaller machine won't be able to lift/dig as much because it isn't a big enough counterweight?

I though the 4310 and the 3320 were both the mid-size frame, both being in the mid-chassis size.
Unless you meant the larger size, like the 4320 vs the mid-size 3320, both in a different series (yes, I agree these numbers can get confusing when trying to keep them straight).

look on machinefinder there are demo units which still carry warranties. A dealer ought to be able to find one for a little while.
