JD 550c, 443 bobcat, had an old john ford FEL gone
I just bought a 1990 443 bobcat last week to get into my backyard to do a retaining wall and to move about 45 yards of dirt under my house which is why i didnt get a bigger one. Problem is the local rental places and bobcat west only has bobtach attachments or the ones that go behind the stand or walk behind tracked units. I have the pin on style 3 and 4 ft buckets but need an auger bit to do some holes for trees and piers later. I also would like to get use an ditcher later too for the ranch along with the auger. So is there a way to make my little new to me toy more relevant in today world of attachments. I got a screaming deal on the bobcat, and buying a newer s70 at 15k is way out of my budget and renting it just to dig holes instead of an attachment would be a bummer to because A it would be more expensive and B the whole point I bought this thing was to use it as a swiss army knife. I dont mind welding it on if need be.

easiest way is build a attachment plate to accept the attachments you have access to that mounts to your current pin on mounting,

so I would have to weld up a bare plate to accept my attachment and then to that i weld on the 2 handle bobtach pieces? I was hoping for an easier way. If not I guess thats what I will have to do. Seems like alot more weight out front is the problem. I was hoping to just get rid of my attachment system.

never used them but if it attaches to your pin locations it would work, then you could cut off the lugs on your buckets and buy the attachment plates for them, then you have quick attack for all

When a pin on style bucket is mentioned this is what comes to mind on this Website:

Your 3 ft bucket is not a pin on, it is the stock Bob-Tach style for your narrow skid steer. The 4 ft bucket has the standard 45 inch wide Bob-Tach SSQA plate and has been modified so the the narrow 443 quick attach would connect to it:

Here is the front view of a standard 44 inch wide Bob-Tach Quick Attach, note the vertical wedge pins at the bottom:

So are you saying that this contraption should work? Making my old style fit the newer bobtach style.

I am saying someone did it on the bigger bucket.

Having never seen a 443 quick attach makes me just guess from looking at the bigger bucket picture.

We need pictures of the back of the 3 foot bucket and the old style Bob-Tach with the bucket removed.
