sometimes when i go to engage pto it wont go, the shifter wont go back, i let off clutch, put it in and out of gear, push clutch back in, then try again and it works, sometimes i have to do this a couple times. it seems like it just has to syncronize. is this a problem?

also sometimes when i go to take it out of gear its kinda hard to pull out and you can feel a little fwd pressure release when it comes out, maybe clutch needs adjusting? it dosnt happen all the time and doesnt grind putting it into gear unless i get into a hurry and dont give it time to syncronize.

You should almost have 1 inch of "play" at the end of the clutch travel. Sounds like you need to check your clutch adjustment to me. I don't ever have to "wait" for it to synchronize. As far as the PTO lever, likely an adustment needed. BobG in VA

I have never been on a tractor (most of our stuff is NOT late model) that I didn't sometimes need to "roll" the tranny a bit to engage/disengage the PTO. Sometimes all those gears just get in a bind and the pressure needs to be relieved for them to mesh/unmesh. I would rather roll the tranny a bit than bend/break a lever or acutator fork inside.
