4500 years of manufacture

Messick's (New Holland Parts Lookup Online Catalog) says 4500 was manufactured 1/65-12/74.
The 4500 is basically a 4000 and has the numbers as a 4000.

If you are lucky there is still a readable tag on the underside of the hood, above the battery. At FORD CODES and SERIAL NUMBERS you find information on where to find numbers on other places and what they mean.

OK, I finally got back to this beast. the hydraulic filter is NASTY!!. the stuff that came out with the filter looks like matted cat fur. The hard plastic around the top of the filter ring is all falling apart also. I can't find a number on it anywhere so does anyone have a NAPA number for the main hydraulic filter. thanx , crossy

NAPA Filters : Filter Look-Up gives #1665


Checking:

Messick's gives the Ford/NH part number: C5NN-F882-B

NAPA Filters : Filter Look-Up gives #1665

It looks as Napa 1665 is the filter you need. Check the measures to be sure.

There is also a suction filter (Item #67 in the Messick's diagram), perhaps you already have cleaned it.

I have never serviced a 4500, as it turned out I have a Users Manual and took a picture of a figure that may be of use for you. Come back if you need information from the manual text. I think someone else on the forum is better to guide you, but the figure may assist.

I have to figure out exactly where that suction filter is. that thing HAS to be clogged with the crap i saw in the main filter. looks like it is in the supply piping to the pump. thanx , crossy
