4630GSTC Speedometer Calibration

We are back up north and starting to till the garden.

Before we left had a 4630GSTC delivered and puttered around for a while before we left, noticed a tag on the hand throttle about the speedometer.

Tonight I checked it and when the delivered the tractor they had not calibrated the speedometer. Just took a couple of minutes, but I would think that this is something the the dealership should have done.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I have not had that experience but it is so easy to do especially for folks with multiple tire sizes. I know the dealer does it when they get it since it is in the assembly instructions. What tires did you get? I believe it comes set for R1's.

The tires that came with the tractor were R1's, but it was not set for them, the setting was for something that was not in the manual.

Dumbdog, could you post the setting procedure? The dealer forgot to give me the tag that tells you how to do it.

I can FAX you the whole thing. It is in the assembly instructions. My dealer gave it to me. It involves holding down the two buttons before turning on the key and entering the appropriate code for the tractor model and tire type. Rat...

Just go it from tilling and brought the book in this time, but Rat beat me to it. It is quite simple just follow the directions and you will know how fast you are going. After doing mine I knew when I was tilling at 2.4 MPH, before setting mine when I thought I was doing 2.0, the actual speed was about 3.6 so who knows what the factory was set for, not for R-1's for sure.

Thanks for the info! I wonder what A, C, and D modes do? Is there a lot of other info in the setup manual? I see the page numbers are pretty high...
Maybe I should try to get a copy of the manual at the dealer...

It does not mention what those do in the manual. It mostly shows all the unassembled parts, how they go together. For instance, the front axle does not have the hubs in them. It shows how those go together. It also mentions how long it should take the dealer to assemble the various tractors. It's about 1.5 hours.
