4707

   / 4707 #151
The 4707 comes with 30 inch tires instead of the 34 inch. No clearance issue.

I had heard that and read it. Because of threads here on the 4707 I purposely looked at them.
They had a 4707 and a 4710 cab and a 4707 open station both of the cabed ones had the 34's
on them, the open station did have the 30's.

According to my dealer, MM Weaver, any 4707 with 34 in tires is improperly specd per MF. The recommended tire is the 30" because the 4707 has the least horsepower in the 4700 series and with lack power in the highest gears. The 4708, 4709, and 4710 can handle the 34 tire fine

I think I mentioned my 4707 came with 34s, and a 4708 had 30s, so I had them switched.

Also, you all may know this already, as I was confused when posting previously, the ride control is an option.

I’m trying to get used to the diverter- I’m not a fan personally compared to the full 3rd function with toggle switch. :)

yup, try starting this tractor in high range and too high a gear and what a clattering and groaning, almost stalling it made.
I don't go fast on the road so for me who cares.

The 4707 saves a huge amount of money over the 4708 and otherwise gave me all the features I wanted. Dealer said serious ag customers would want the 4708 and above for running balers, etc.

I find when starting in higher gears I put in neutral first and then engage with powershift lever, not pushbutton clutch on shifter.
Latter bangs into gear, powershift gradually eases in.

Dealer was able to adjust rear tires further out, I know because they scratched the wheel paint doing it, so with 30's on the rear with wheels adjusted out, I would think snow chains would have no problem, but I have little experience here.
I remember that putting chains on an ancient JD B as a kid in an ice cold barn was just about the worst, most frustrating job. They always seemed to sag somewhere...and that chain sure doesn't stretch very well trying to get the hook on.

what is nice to know is that any 4707 owner with complaints over power can spend two grand and jack it up to 100hp. Not under warranty, but if you need it, nice to know you can have it.

I don't know of any geared tractor that can start off in it's highest gear.
Thats goes for Allis Chalmer WD's thru INH1086 and 7230 Magnums and includes my Branson 8050.
My Branson in high range (C) start out in first get it rolling good then using the foot clutch pedal go up thru the gears, going down the same way on grades that it woun't pull in 4th. That foot clutch is very much like your 4707s foot pedal in that it is not a linkage to a clutch disc but a command to the shuttle clutch packs.
The power shift transmissions are similar starting out in maybe 12th and shifting up thru the gears or down as the loads dictate.

Lou I think it was in 7th or 8th on a relatively cold engine without enough rpms. Complete operator error, but still a wake up call to me.
I don't mind the occasional shifting but my experience so far has been poor by using the pushbutton approach. I'm sure if I used the floor clutch
it would be smoother, like you say.

Will be interesting to drive it now that the factory rep has "recalibrated" the trans/clutch packs, which in my case were grabbing slightly
in neutral.

Camera monitor now mounted on right door tubular bar and camera now in center of tractor. Dealer also repainted areas they scratched prior to delivery. Hope to get it back on Tuesday, so much rain here.

I mounted my camera monitor with Ram mounts. They work awesome. 20181201_162546.jpeg20181201_162606.jpeg

Re tires I forgot about the poultry version... I did see this once. I know I asked an agco rep who didn’t mention it last fall when asking about R4 tires if they were available.. They just told me that no-one ever wanted R4s so it wasn’t an option on this size tractor.

No telling what the cost would be at this point. Maybe rim is same size up front? Back looks smaller? Probably cheaper to try buying those other tires though I’m sure they wouldn’t tread as easily as these. I wonder if cab weight would be an issue with these tires.
I don’t pull super heavy equipment nor deal with much snow- hind sight wish I had remembered about these and pushed dealer to find out.

Never mind- both rims are looking smaller. Definitely different. IMG_1920.JPG
