4720 FEL Bucket Cutting Edge Question

I have a 4720 with the 400x with the lighweight material bucket. I need to break up an old tank berm and use the dirt elsewhere. I am pretty sure I need some teeth on my bucket. A heavy duty JD bucket is $1,000. Should I just bolt some teeth on my bucket or eat the extra $1000 and have another bucket?

Why not have some 1/2 to 1 inch x 3 inch strips (or bigger) welded across the top edge, along side and across the bottom of the bucket for bracing and then add the tooth bar? If it doesn't work, you aren't out that much money and you could still get a HD bucket later if needed.

go for the heavier bucket or if you really want a better bucket or get the 4 in 1 bucket. fantastic

hi there, i just ordered a heavy duty JD tooth bar for my heavy duty 61" bucket for my 3320 from the JD dealer, the msrp was around $350 but the dealer let me have it for $260 total that's without tax. imho i felt that by the time i ordered an aftermarket tooth bar paid shipping etc. it would end up being about the same price + if i ever need a replacement tooth or something i can just go to the dealer and get it instead of waiting for the parts to be shipped. just a thought. well have a good day! larry
