Price Check 4720H

I've been lurking around here for about a year now and have finally started to do some serious shopping. The amount of information available on this forum is incredible, so a big thanks to all contributers. Anyway, I got a quote today on a 2010 Branson 4720H and would like to get input on the price and anything I may want to add. The quote is as follows:

Financed 0% for 60 months: $22,310
Cash price: $19,960

These prices include BL20S loader, two rear remotes ($800), oversize ag tires ($200), upgraded seat ($250), and delivery. I don't have to pay sales tax.

He mentioned that I could upgrade to the Branson BL20ASL self-leveling loader for an additional $300, or for $700 I could upgrade to a new "Branson approved" (not sure of the brand) loader which has a third function valve and a little more lifting capacity. I would like to say that the dealer seams very accommodating. He spent about 45 minutes explaining all of the options and stayed focused on dealing with me even though other customers were waiting to see him. He has a service department and is about 14 miles from our property.

I was able to briefly test drive a similarly equipped 4720h that was sitting on the lot, but was already sold. I was very impressed with the turning radius and hydrostat transmission, but I didn't like the controls for the rear remotes and the loader valve was not fender mounted like other brands. Overall I like the tractor, but I would like to get some input from owners and an idea of what others have paid for their Branson tractors.

That is a very good price on the Branson. I paid that 3 years ago for my 3820i which is not hydostatic, but did have the loader and rear remotes. I would go with the best loader you can afford as you will use it all the time and the more capacity it has the more you can do. You will not be disappointed with the Branson. I have had mine for three years and it has not let me down once, very well built tractor. Sounds like you have a quality dealer to support it, which is a huge plus when you buy a tractor, Definately go with the upgraded seat, Good luck...........................

Thanks for the reply. It's good to hear from owners. I'm definately leaning towards the self-leveling loader, but I'm not sure about spending another $700 on a different brand loader, even if it is as the dealer says "Branson approved". I'll get more info on the difference between the specs next week.

I just bought a 4720h this weekend for $20k 0% for 60. I didn't get the remote but I did get the tires and self leveling bucket. You price looks about right. I haven't picked mine up yet but I got to drive it a couple of days ago and it's pretty cool. I didn't know I could get the 3rd function on my loader. If I were you I would get it. That would allow you to use all Bobcat attachments like a grapple or front auger.

The thing I'm not a fan of is most of the controls are electric (cruise, PTO etc). I just hope they hold up over time.

I've been shopping for the same tractor (4720H), and your price seems like a great deal. It's better than I've been able to find in my neck of the woods. If you don't mind me asking, where is your dealer?

My dealer is Bastert (pronounced Bostert) Equipment in Camp Point, IL. He seemed very accommodating when I was there last week. I plan on making another visit tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

I've been busy lately, so I haven't had time to update. Here's what I've found out so far. The loader with the third function hydraulics is manufactured by Amerequip and is a curved boom style. The dealer says that he doesn't have the specs on it yet, but he is working on getting the info. He thought that it had about 2200 lbs lifting capacity. He did mention that he has two new 4720s coming in in the next week and one of them has the new Amerequip loader. I'll post pics when I can. My wife and I have been thinking hard about the purchase. We can finance this year or pay cash next year. It's a bit of a gamble because prices could go up and we could be stuck paying more next year. But if prices stay the same we'll be money ahead. Hmm........

How do you like your self leveling loader? Do you loose much bucket curl? Is it worth the upgrade?

Ordered the tractor today. I ended up with the same tractor as quoted earlier, but added the Amerequip loader for about $100 over the original price. I found a good deal financing through Farm Credit Services for 4.4%, so I was able to take advantage of the cash price. He said that he will try to get the tractor here asap, but I'm not sure exactly how long it will be. Included in the price is delivery and I was able to get him to throw in loaded rear tires. All in all, I'm pretty happy and was able to get out the door with tractor and loader for a hair over $20,000.

I also spoke for a new 6' rotary cutter. It's a "Fuerst" brand. I've never heard of it before, but the dealer said they are relabeled Rhino units that were old stock. They appear brand new (no faded paint or rust) and actually have Rhino serial number tags. You can even see where they peeled off the Rhino stickers to replace with Fuerst. It has a 60 hp gearbox and price was $1200. I looked around for a while and a decent used cutter in this area goes for about $900-1000, so I figured $1200 for new was reasonable. He assured me that parts for the unit would not be an issue since they were a Rhino product.

I don't have exact specs on the Amerequip loader yet, but the dealer called his sales rep while I was there today. It actually has 2500lbs lifting capacity and includes a 72" bucket as opposed to the 66" offered on other Branson loaders. He assured me that the lifting height would be comparable to that of the other loaders offered. Branson is marketing this loader as the BL25S in case anyone wants to ask their dealer about it.

Sorry, I haven't been on the computer. Mine has the BL25S also. It's been great. I've got about 7 hrs from one day and it only used 1/4 tank of fuel. I was digging up a bunch of small trees (schrub size) and it's flawless.

anyone seen a spec sheet on the BL25S loader yet? I have the chance to pick one up, but would like to see the actual specs prior to ordering.

Haven't seen any specs on the new loader yet. I even emailed Amerequip, but didn't get a reply. The dealer called today to tell me the tractor is in, so I stopped by to take a look and get some pics. I like the new loader much better than the BL20S. It has better visibility, fender mounted joystick, third function, and it just looks nicer. Of course, it would be nice to know the specs before laying down the money. I noticed the label on the loader is 2500X instead of BL25S. Not sure if that has any significance.

It should be delivered next week. The dealer still has to swap the tires for loaded ags and install the rear remotes. He is trying for delivery Tuesday afternoon and it can't get here quick enough. I have renewed excitement and a lot of playing....err work.... to get done.

is the 10 series listed in the .pdf actually the bl25s? those numbers lift dimensions look pretty close.

Don't know about the bl25s. I believe the 2500x is available on the hydro tractors (4720h and 3510h), maybe that's why they list the 10 series on the specs. I hear ya about the breakout force. It's about double the bl20s also.

I think I'm going to be happy with the loader, but there are a few minor things I would change:
1. I would like to have a rod type bucket level indicator.
2. The lift height is about 4 inches less than the bl20s.
3. In order to operate the third function you have to hold the button and then use the joystick to operate the 3rd function valve. I would like to have two buttons (one extends the cylinder and one retracts it).
4. I think metal hydraulic lines would be less prone to damage.

None of these things will likely cause an issue, but I like comparing options. Overall, I think it was worth the few extra bucks. Then again, I haven't used it yet so we will see.

That BL25S is definitely a pretty awesome loader and it's what I got on my hydro, I do like the rod for the bucket level indicator. The bucket is huge. This thing really needs the tires filled or some counterweight on the rear. The loader overpowers the rear weight pretty easily.
