48w LED vs 55w Halogen Comparison - Pics

Comparison of each light by itself. The bright one is the LED.

Wow! Sure you need a second light?

I see on that Amazon page, several more of similar cost and output, and a couple with near double the output for a few dollars more. I hadn't realized LED's are so affordable now.

Here are the results. I guess I will leave the LED lights on the tractor. Best $22 I ever spent.

It looks like Amazon's price has bumped up to $30. Still not a bad price for how well they work.

Thanks for your great info and pictures. Those lights look super bright!
Do you know if they are 60 degree flood pattern or 30 degree spots.
Most of the ads call them both floods and then usually farther down in the
descriptions specify 60 or 30 degree. Yours did not?

Thanks

They were 60 degree flood. They were called work flood lights, but it pays to check. I am very happy with them. They do throw a nice wide beam.

LEDs whip Halogens butt all day/night long. Less heat, brighter light, and longest lasting 'bulb' equivalent, no replacement of bulbs due to vibration, etc. And less battery/alternator drain. They're a total win!

That was the very first mod to my new Kubota, got the same led's and mounted them to the rops. Makes a world of difference when bush hogging in the late summer evenings...especially when it's too hot during the day.

Now if I could just "un-do" the second mod I made....poking a nice gash in the front grill. A limb slipped over the bucket and nailed it good. Really hurts when the red head wife snickers at me for doing something dorky...:(

Been there and done that and more than once. May I say you'll never be fully happy until you just pony up and buy new factory replacement parts so everything is like new again. It's the right thing to do. It might be a little pricey but so was the tractor.

I used to change the mower blades on my B7800 by picking the front end of the tractor up with my 90 HP JD 5520 until the one day when I nicked the hood of the B7800 with the loader bucket and also took out the headlight parts. $550. Again, it was pricey but I rarely think of it anymore and learned a lesson I'll never forget. The cost has likely saved me from future calamities.

18 W LED's beat 55 w halogens for light output.

I was worried about tiny 3A fused aux harness I tied into not being able to support bigger lights on my little Max28, but I wish I'd gone with pair of 27W LEDS, I suspect at 4 amps I would have got away with it. If I upgrade my L39, that will light things up as I can spare 10 Amps.
