Well my shop floor has been poured 3 years next week, still have yet to set it up and use it, so I’m sure it’s cured enough to seal. :( Just had way to many things going to get it finished, but I’ll be doing it in the next few weeks so I can start installing my lift and tools. Looking forward to having the chance to start working in it over the winter.

Like above there are SOOO many different types, styles, looks etc it’s crazy. I have thought about using epoxy and similar stuff, acid stain, but thinking just a good high gloss clear so I can dust mop or wet mop it. Another thought I’ve been tossing around is throwing some paint chips in the first coat to help break up the floor and hide any chips or imperfections down the road.

This is the Ghostshield product. I wrote and asked questions and this is the very good response I got.
Thanks so much for contacting Concrete Sealer Supply about sealing the floor in your new pole barn.

The first thing you will want to do is wait the full 28 days until the concrete has fully cured. If it was power troweled you may have to do an etch with our Hydro-Etch 1001 product just to open up the surface pores so that the Ghostshield products can sink in and preform properly. If the concrete was left with some texture or is a broom finish, it is more than likely porous and the etching would not be necessary.

The floor should be clean of any oils or any type of debris that can interfere with the penetration of the sealer.

Siloxa-Tek 8505 is a water carried product with 40% actives that protects against freeze-thaw, mold/mildew, efflorescence, water intrusion and de-icing salt damage, plus has added fluorocarbons to resist oils and staining. That being said, oil stains should be cleaned up in a reasonable amount of time. Those left on the surface overnight or for a succession of days may still leave some mild discoloration when cleaned up.

On a 1,500sf surface, you would need 2 gallons of Siloxa-Tek 8500 ultra concentrate @ $254.88 ea. = $509.76 with zero sales tax and free shipping within the contiguous US.

depending on your timeframe for completing the project, we also recommend that Lithi-Tek 4500 concrete strengthener/densifier/primer be applied before the Siloxa-Tek 8505. Lithi-Tek 4500 penetrates into the pores and capillaries of the concrete to grow a crystal structure within that strengthens the concrete by 50% and also reduce its porousness, thereby reducing its ability to absorb ground moisture hydrostatically down the road. It’s not only very economical, it is also a great primer for a waterproofing sealer and allows you to get a bit more square footage out of your sealer. It is a one time only product that lasts the lifetime of the concrete. $69.88 for a concentrated gallon will cover up to 1000sf.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if you would like to proceed with an order.

I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Marie

I know how you feel. Many, many choices. Friend of mine used a product he got at Menards. It's a year old with great durability so far. I like it's natural look. I talked to him in town today and he couldn't remember the product name. Said he has a partial bucket left so I'm going over to his house this weekend to get the info.

Along with this is putting something in the expansion joints. I got a product called "Slab" at my lumber yard and filled all my cuts. It's a horrible product and won't set up enough to withstand any traffic contact without destroying it. I'm gonna have to dig it all out. 13 caulking tubes worth........

Installing rafters. Stiff wind blowing. The Sky Trak makes it look easy.

Rafters are on 4' centers. 2x4 purlins laying flat spanning the rafters on 2' centers. 12" eave overhang. 18" gable end overhang.

Thanks Eddie. It's a hobby I enjoy. I shoot a lot of video and pics of people's properties. Especially new builds. I'm following two new house builds now plus my own. When I get time I'll edit and post some video.

I see trusses, not rafters. Am I confused, or just a terminology difference?
