Dang thats alot of money for a 4' cutter. I guess you could get 3 cheapy ones or at least a couple medium duty ones for that money.

Guess you're making that an heirloom to pass down to the grandkids after your gone right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tell me all about it SoundGuy. I've never bought one before... I just assumed this is what they go for? Any ideas?

Unless you have priced them lately you may not be aware what the price of steel has done to the price of cutters. About $100 higher than 18 months ago when I bought my first one.

At 560 pounds there is quite a bit of steel in the 4' Modern cutter.

I called Tractor Supply Co and they have a 4ft King Kutter for $588. They seem to have a cheaper build than some of the other brands. Any info on these?

Thanks

The KK and Howse have the economy line for around that price...They work very well if you are maintaining a few acres, and they will last a long time if they are cleaned up, maintained and put in out of the weather.

I paid around $1,000 for my 4' Bush Hog Squealer, delivered about 60 miles - sounds like "They saw me coming". I like it though and it does a good job - hopefully the grandkids will still have it to use.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Please keep them coming... I might bite the bullet and get one Friday since I have the day off. So it's decision time!

Thanks
